Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Christian Service


The Christian Service Major is designed for student who desire to complete a four-year, 133-hour program of study that prepares them for ministry roles in a variety of church-related vocations. This program also serves as a preparation for seminary or graduate studies.

Program Outcomes


Through the Bachelor of Arts in Bible and Christian Service program, IBCS seeks to:

  1. Instill knowledge, discernment, and wisdom so that the IBCS student may be able to critically read, write, and reason within a culturally and philosophically diverse society.
  2. Cultivate a genuine love for God and mankind through a dependent relationship with the Holy Spirit that demonstrates itself by living and ministering like Christ daily.
  3. Prepare disciples to be theologically committed and culturally conversant while engaging, evangelizing, and educating others.
  4. Mentor God-fearing leaders by developing them mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually to minister in the West and around the world.

Department Head

Pastor Nathan Mestler
Pastor Nathan MestlerTheology, Bible Languages
A 2003 graduate of International Baptist College, Nathan Mestler serves as a Bible professor and is the college pastor at Tri-City Baptist Church. He earned an M.Div. from Calvary Baptist Seminary and is finishing his D.Min. He also serves in the Arizona Air National Guard as a chaplain.

Emphasis


Pastoral Emphasis – The Pastoral department provides students with basic preparation for ministry as well as background for advanced study.

Missions – The Department of Missions is designed to challenge and equip students to carry out the Great Commission. Great emphasis is placed on establishing local, independent Baptist churches at home and abroad.

Church Music – The mission of the Music Department at IBCS is to equip students to glorify God by serving in a local church in teaching, performing, writing, and arranging music and administrating music programs.

Church Ministries
