Dr. Larry Oats to Teach History of Fundamentalism

Join Dr. Larry Oats and International Baptist College and Seminary for HI 533 History of Fundamentalism. This 2-credit class will be offered in a block format from February 11-17, 2026. Come to the IBCS campus to experience Dr. Oats's powerful teaching in person or join virtually. Dr. Larry R. Oats is Professor of Systematic Theology at Maranatha Baptist Seminary, Watertown, Wisconsin, where he recently stepped down from his administrative duties as the Dean of the Seminary. He is a 1970 graduate of Maranatha Baptist University. He has earned three master's degrees and received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He began Maranatha International, a teaching ministry of Maranatha in partnership with missionaries around the world in training nationals for ministry in their home countries; this ministry has been expanded and renamed as Global Encounters. Oats initiated the Roger Williams Heritage Archives, an electronic publishing venture of Maranatha Baptist University, and was the editor of the Maranatha Baptist Theological Journal. He has written dozens of articles and three full-length books: The Church of the Fundamentalists; B. Myron and Thelma Cedarholm: To the Praise of His Glory; and For the Faith: The History of the Foundations Baptist Fellowship International. Dr. Oats is a frequent speaker in churches, mission fields, and various colleges and seminaries in the areas of Systematic Theology, Fundamentalism, Dispensationalism, and Baptist History.
