Nestled in the heart of the picturesque Utah mountains are two strategic ministries where 13 students will invest their spring break. The International Team at IBCS serves to keep global and local missions at the forefront of the students’ minds during their time at college. This spring break, March 8–13, the team is organizing 12 undergraduate volunteers, led by a graduate assistant in the seminary, to serve at Community Baptist Church in Tropic and Eagle’s Nest Baptist Ministries in Marysvale.
Eagle’s Nest is a Christian conference center and a retreat for weary Christian workers to rest and reconnect. The IBCS team will be assisting in finishing the construction process for the building. Community Baptist Church is a church plant of Northwest Baptist Missions. It is in the town of Tropic, which lies along the entrance to beautiful Bryce Canyon National Park. Due to the church’s unique location, it often receives visitors from the park. The team will be ministering in music and preaching for the Sunday morning service and then seek to encourage the church family over lunch.
In addition to recreation opportunities in renowned national parks, the team will receive daily instruction about understanding and reaching Mormons with the true Gospel of Jesus Christ. Pastor Jonathan Edwards and his wife Chrissa, long time church planters in the intermountain West, will host the team as they seek to serve and be a blessing to the Edwards and all whom they meet on the way.
Please pray for . . .
1. The Lord to open doors for ministry.
2. Safety for the team as they drive over 1,000 miles.
3. Opportunities to evangelize along the way.
4. God’s blessing as they exercise their gifts to serve the body of Christ in Utah.
International Baptist College and Seminary exists to multiply God-fearing leaders who faithfully serve the church in the western United States and around the world.
