The Associate of Arts in Bible and Christian Service will prepare you to effectively serve others through leadership or as support personnel in your local church ministries.

The Associate of Arts degree is a 63-credit-hour program designed to prepare men and women for active ministry either as lay leaders in the local church or as support personnel in various ministries of the local church. The program may be completed in two years.

Program Learning Outcomes

Through the Associate of Arts in Bible and Christian Service program, IBCS seeks to prepare ministers who will apply their love for God and for mankind through a life-long commitment to learn, minister, disciple, and lead others in the field of their calling.

We want you to be actively involved in local church ministry while you are a student. At IBCS, you can be engaged in a variety of ministries that will give you practical experiences outside of the classroom.

Future Ministry Opportunities

After you receive practical instruction and mentoring from experienced teachers and training in local ministries, you’ll be better prepared for the opportunities the Lord has for you. Ministries could include the following:

  • Sunday school teacher
  • Lay leader
  • Church or Christian school support staff
  • Faithful Christian in secular employment

Rebecca M. Stertzbach, M.C.Ed.

Mrs. Rebecca Stertzbach completed a Master of Christian Education in 2019. Currently she serves as the Executive Assistant at IBCS, where she teaches in the English, speech, and education departments.
